MESO – Deutsche Telekom: Interactive presentation space for brand showroom

Under the creative lead of and comissioned by Atelier Markgraph, we were responsible for the implementation of the media control system and the development of a generative data room as well as three different real-time data visualizations, media just as videos, ambient light and sound.

Media Control System

We developed a media control system for two independent but linked rooms. Both rooms had a large 103" plasma display and an elaborated light system. This system was backed by a content management system and a server by MESO Web Scapes for controlling two Apple iPod Touch remote controls.

Due to its large touch screen the iPod Touch is the ideal remote control for complex installations like this. In this application It controls complex lighting presets in the rooms (ceiling, walls and the floor), controls the sound and selects between different physical sources (DVD, Laptop etc.), different video clips and real-time feeds in an integrated metaphor.

Generative Data Room

Media Player as Interactive navigation instrument

The “Generative Data Room” displayed on the two 103" Plasmas, is the key visual of the room and functions as interactive navigation instrument. From the data room the users can navigate to the real-time graphics and content uploaded in the CMS.

The real-time graphics are displaying the constantly changing market environment of the Deutsche Telekom by showing the traffic in Germany, the international in- and outgoing connections, as well as a news feed from the Telekom web page.
